The Holy Cross boy’s basketball teams have finished their season for this school year. As a school, our teams produced an outstanding overall winning record with 27 wins and 18 losses.
Our A-team finished the season with 7 wins-10 losses, B-team 5-4, C-team 10-2 and the D-team 5-2.
The teams added 4 trophies to our wonderful trophy display. The A-team won first place at the annual “Troy Tiger Invitational” and the Consolation Championship at the annual Conference Tournament. The B-team won the Consolation Championship at the Litchfield tournament and the C-team won first place at the annual “C-Team Shootout” in Staunton.
In addition to team success, the school had two free throw champions.
Overall, it was an impressive season considering only two 8th graders, Daniel Shimkus and Freddie Poddig, played on the A-team. Players in the lower grades stepped up and contributed to the overall team’s success. Great job to Daniel and Freddie for a great season and all their hard work. We wish you both the best in your future endeavors. Congratulations to all the other players, coaches, staff, parents and everyone else who contributed for a successful season.
The future of Holy Cross boy’s basketball looks bright.
