Exciting things have been happening with our Comfort Dog Ministry!
Due to the generosity of our members (and a few non-members too!), we were able to raise and send off our $6,000 deposit for our Comfort Dog at the end of October!!! Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!
In addition to those funds, we had an additional $1,000 raised and thus needed $5,000 to have our second $6,000 for the cost of our trained Comfort Dog. A request was made and approved by the Board of Investments to use $5,000 from the Holy Cross Ministry Endowment Fund for Comfort Dog Ministry!
What a blessing there were funds available to use for a ministry that will have such great impact for our church, school and community outreach!! Thanks to everyone who has donated to this fund!
How wonderful that the cost of getting our trained Comfort Dog is paid for! It will probably still be about a year before we get our Comfort Dog, but that will give us time to plan and prepare!
We will also continue to do fundraising, since we need a healthy Comfort Dog Ministry Fund here at Holy Cross to be able to pay for expenses for the dog once he/she is here (vet, grooming, food, etc.) and for other costs associated with the outreach we will be doing. We hope all our members will support this ministry as they are able to!
It is amazing to think that it was only in July that Deaconess Tiffany visited with Zeke, and August when we had our informational meetings and Council approved us adding Comfort Dog Ministry to our Caregiving Ministry!! God has been providing the resources for this ministry to move forward, and He is able to use this ministry to accomplish great things!
Continue to pray for this ministry, and contact Deaconess Kelly if you would like to be involved or just learn more about what Comfort Dog Ministry is!!!
